I have this dream that one day I’m going to blog about how everything fell into place.
The reality is, whilst I’m gaining workplace bullying ground, there’s nothing graceful about it. I’m wrestling my way toward progress. This week was particularly tough.
In the words of Roxie Hart: ‘I got me a world full of no!’
The employment law paralegal training my boss had been so keen on back in July failed to materialise, despite my email reminders. Last Tuesday, my boss finally explained that in-house training was pulled for the foreseeable future.
The gloom wasn’t even restricted to my day job.
My letters to various ‘legal eagles’ for testimonials were, I presume, sat in someone’s post tray for a month before a curt ‘no’ being emailed across and my letter thrown in the bin.
Of the workplace bullying expert testimonials I’ve requested, I’ve received only one so far.
My emails to London PR firms were universally ignored. A friend on Twitter had to come to my rescue and kindly put me in touch with a PR contact of hers.
Self-publishing, I’m told, is supposed to be faster, but this is looking like an uphill battle. This weekend, I’m patching myself up and anticipating a world full of yes next week. And if it’s not, I’m going publish as soon as possible with or without endorsement.
I’m sure my readers will let me know if it’s any good or not. And, after all, they’re the ones I wrote it for.
Best wishes

About Me
- Bullied By The Boss
- Welcome to my blog. My pen name is Eva James. I'm an aspiring writer paying the bills working as a legal secretary. Relentlessly bullied by my former boss, I looked for another job but the recession hit. Feeling trapped, I recorded everything in this blog, which serves as a revealing insight into workplace bullying. WEEK 1 starts the story and, as the weeks progress, you'll note what starts as banter soon spirals out of control. Sadly, it's all true. Whilst along the way I've found alternative employment, my passion for blogging about workplace bullying remains. Trevor Griffiths, legendary theatre, TV and film writer said at the outset, "I like the writing a lot: smart, cool, placed. If you were prepared/able to take your prick of a boss on, you'd marmelise him."
